Student Testimonials
“Tyler has been working with our family for the last year and half. Hands down the best investment in lessons for your kids if you are looking for someone to teach them to play the guitar, bass or electric guitar. He is kind and patient and has a “cool” factor that keeps my kids’ attention. They both now consider him a friend and we joke all the time that he is part of our family. Honestly, he is just a super sweet person who becomes a mentor to your kids not just an instructor. On many occasions he ends up staying for dinner and our whole family is so thankful to have found him.
Beyond his personality, my kids have grown so much in their skill level and their dedication to practice because they love having him around. Could not recommend him more!”

“Tyler is an exceptional music teacher, and we highly recommend him! My 12 year old son has been taking lessons with Tyler for over two years, and he has learned how to fluently play guitar, read music, and play confidently in front of an audience. Tyler really puts his heart and soul into planning out lessons that cater to each of one of his students. My son now has a long term life skill that he can take with him into adulthood, and Tyler played a key roll in his drive and love of learning a musical instrument. We really appreciate Tyler, and we are looking forward to many more years of lessons with him!”

“I’ve had several guitar teachers, and Tyler is the best of them. He has amazing guitar skills, is encouraging, and always picks up on the subtle issues that will help you make progress faster. I recommend him highly.”

“I had wanted to learn how to play the guitar for most of my life and finally, in my late 60s, during the start of COVID, I decided to take lessons. I have no obvious musical talent. My goal was to be able to play country-folk-rock songs for my own enjoyment, for singing with my grandchildren, and someday, for group singing with friends (“campfires”). Tyler was recommended to me by a friend with similar goals. In the beginning, I had weekly lessons with Tyler and he taught me chords and gave me chord progressions to practice. As I started to work on individual songs, and I had more to practice, we settled in on lessons every other week. To date I can play about 20 songs, 10 of which I can play well. We started working on picking a few months ago, I have learned a fairly difficult song and am working on another. I am now a year and a half into my experience and it has been very satisfying. I really didn’t know what rate of progress to expect but with Tyler’s lessons and guidance I can say I am ahead of where I ever thought I would be.”

“I was a 16 year old girl trying to find her footing and center. I began lessons with Tyler and through my discovery of loving and learning the guitar my calming teacher, Tyler, allowed space for discomfort and patience until I was able to understand. I practice often with Tyler and forever cherish his many teachings, in life and guitar.
(P.S. if you’re against dad jokes then run)”

“Tyler took our son from a beginner with 10 thumbs to a proficient player and inspired composer. He values his lessons and collaboration with Tyler above most other things. We would really appreciate it if he would take up teaching math and chemistry.”

“When I retired I decided I wanted to learn how to play the guitar. I got Tyler's name and I saw him once a week for quite a long time. Not only is he a patient and knowledgeable instructor, but an excellent guitarist in his own right. I enjoyed just listening to him play. I referred him to two other friends, one a beginner, and one an experienced player who wanted to expand his skills. Both continue to work with him. He also teaches my ten year old granddaughter. His easy personality makes her very comfortable to learn guitar, and sing. It's easy to recommend Tyler to guitar enthusiasts of all ages and skill levels.”

“Tyler has been an awesome change of pace from taking lessons at a music studio. We have been able to have longer lessons and my husband and I are able to hear more of the lessons. Tyler has an engaging personality and captured my son’s attention from his very first lesson. We gave Tyler specific direction about where we think out child needed help and he has shown commitment to work on those things while also letting our son make some choices about what he is interested in working on. I highly recommend Tyler for guitar lessons! We are so glad that we found him.”
